Instructions:
- Wash and soak urad dal for 1.5 hours. Strain the water. Grind urad dal to a smooth paste in a grinder Grind it till urad dal turns soft and fluffy.
- Add salt, ginger, curry leaves, green chillies, coriander leaves and black pepper to the dough and mix well.
- Heat Oil for deep frying. Drop small lemon size of batter in oil and deep fry till it turns golden brown on both sides.Drain the excess oil by placing it in a paper towel.
- Soak the vada in hot boiling water for a min. Remove from water and place it in paper towel. Squeeze the water from vada. This helps to soften the vada.
- Arrange the vada in serving plate. Add beaten yogurt and garnish with shredded carrot, coriander leaves, sev, cumin powder and chilli powder.
