All purpose flour / Maida : 3 tbsp Corn flour : 1 tbsp Pepper powder : 1/2 tsp Green Chilly : 1 Broccoli Medium size : 1 Ginger finely chopped : 1 tsp Garlic finely chopped : 1 tsp Salt : As needed

Garlic cloves finely chopped : 1 tsp Ginger finely chopped : 1 tsp Onion finely chopped : 1/4 Cup Green chilly finely chopped : 1 Red chilly sauce : 1 tbsp Soy sauce : 1 tsp Vinegar : 1 tsp Corn flour : 1 tbsp Green onions chopped : For Garnishing Instructions:
1.Wash broccoli in running water and cut into small florets. Chop 1 green chilly and broccoli florets in a blender.
2. Add All-purpose flour, corn flour, salt, pepper, finely chopped ginger,finely chopped garlic in a bowl. 4. Heat Oil in wok or heavy bottomed vessel for deep frying.Deep fry the broccoli balls till they turn brown and once ssh sound resides, turn on other side and fry till they turn crisp and brown. Steps for Preparing Sauce: 5. Heat Oil in a pan. Add ginger, garlic and green chilly. Fry it till raw smell goes off. Add onions and fry till they turn translucent.Add soy sauce, red chilly sauce and vinegar.
Tips:
1. Adjust chilli sauce and pepper powder to your taste. 2. Serve hot as a side dish to fried rice. |
Broccoli Manchurian
I am not a big fan of Broccoli. But after knowing the nutrient information of broccoli, I thought of trying recipes with Broccoli. My hubby and my second kid loves broccoli a lot. Broccoli is rich in fibres and vitamin C. Broccoli manchurian is an Indo-chinese appetizer. Adapted the recipe from Sanjeev Kapoor site. it can be taken as a side dish to pulao or fried rice. I just made this for the first time today. Pretty darn tasty. A little more work than I'm used to but definitely worth it. This would also be great with freshly steamed broccoli mixed in with the patties for colour and nutrition. When you write "corn flour" I think you mean "corn starch". Thanks for a wonderful recipe!
