1.Take 2 unsalted butter sticks.(226 gms or 16 tbsp ) . Use a heavy bottomed pan. Melt the butter in the pan in medium flame.
2.Continue cooking stirring continuously till you see the foam and hear the cracking sound.
3.Reduce to Low flame and the cracking sound will gradually subsides.
4. Once the cracking sound stops, Use a spoon to clear the foam on top. Yellow ghee should be ready with the solid particles setting at bottom. Switch of the stove and allow it to cool. Filter the ghee twice using strainer or clean muslin cloth.Once cooled, Store in airtight container.
Don't over cook Ghee.
Use unsalted butter for preparing ghee.Ghee can be refrigerated or stored at room temperature.
Don't throw away filtered solid residue. Spread it on bread . Toast bread in dosa tawa. It will be very tasty.
