Millet sweet pongal was in my to-do list for a long time. I used Kodo millet for this sweet pongal. Kodo millet is known as Varagu in Tamil, Kodon in Hindi, Arikelu in Telugu and Haarka in Kannada. I don't have traditional pongal paanai, so I am using pressure cooker for preparing pongal. Whomever had lunch in Andhra mess would have tasted the lentil powder alias gun powder. I am not sure why it got the name gun powder. It is my hubby's favourite. One year ago,  my mom introduced semiya payasam to my kid. Since then I prepare it at-least once in a week.  He calls it as sweet noodles and loves it a lot.
