Idli | 3 |
Onions chopped | 1/2 cup |
Oil | 2 tbsp |
Mustard | 1/4 tsp |
Channa dal | 1/2 tsp |
Urad dal | 1/2 tsp |
Red chillies | 2 |
Ginger finely chopped | 1 tsp |
Curry leaves | 4 |
Green Chillies | 2 |
Turmeric Powder | 1/2 tsp |
Salt | |
Coriander Leaves | 2 stalks |
Instructions:
- Refrigerate Idlis for 2 hours before cooking. Smash the left over idly into small pieces.
- Heat oil in the pan and add mustard. When mustard splutter add urad dal, channa dal and red chillies. When channa dal turns golden colour, add chopped ginger and Green chillies. Add onions and fry till onions turn translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and fry till raw smell goes off. Switch off the stove and add idli pieces and coriander leaves..
- This upma can be garnished with roasted Cashews and Peanuts.
- To get tangy taste, add 1 tsp of lemon juice.
- Adjust green chillies to your taste.
