Sweet Chapathi - Inippu Chapati

My little one usually asks recipes which doesn't exist like black rice, blue rice so that he can escape from having food. Similarly last week, when I asked him, whether can I prepare chapati for dinner. He asked for sweet chapati.  That's how this recipe is coined. An easy and quick sweet with less ingredients. Check below for step wise instructions and pictures for preparing sweet chapati.




Preparation Time:     10 mins
Cook Time :                15 mins
Ready in :                   25 mins
Yields :                        10 Chapati 

Ingredients:
Chapati Flour / Atta
11/4 Cups
Oil / Ghee 
10 tsp
Jaggery
3/4 Cup
Cardamom powder
1/4 tsp
Salt


Instructions:
  • Take 1/4 Cup water in thick bottomed vessel. Add jaggery and allow it to boil till jaggery melts and form a sugar syrup. Strain and add it to chappathi flour.


  • Make a soft dough by adding chapati flour, jaggery, cardamom powder and salt. Knead well 



  •  Take a fraction of a dough and make a ball the size of gooseberry. Flatten the balls to 5-7 inches in diameter using rolling pin.


  • Heat dosa tawa and place the flatten dough ball. Drizzle 1/2 tsp of ghee or oil if needed. Cook till golden spots appear on some places. Turn and drizzle 1/2 tsp of oil. cook until golden spots appear on the other side also. Repeat the process for remaining flatten dough balls.
