Ingredients:
Table 1: To Grind
Betel Leaves | 3 |
Cumin seeds | Seeragam | 1 tsp |
Black pepper | Milagu | 1 tsp |
Table 2:
Cooked Rice | 2 Cups |
Sesame Oil | 2 tsp |
Mustard seeds | 1/4 tsp |
Shallots chopped | 1/4 Cup |
Garlic finely chopped | 1 tsp |
Turmeric powder | 1/4 tsp |
Salt | As needed |
Lemon Juice | 1 tbsp |
Instructions:
- Wash Betel leaves. Remove the stalk and tail part. Chop into small pieces. Grind betel leaves along with cumin seeds and black pepper into smooth paste by adding enough water in blender.
- Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard and allow it to splutter. Add shallots and garlic. Fry till shallots turn translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and fry till raw smell goes off. Switch off the stove.Add cooked rice, salt and grind-ed mixture. Also add lemon juice. Mix well and serve.
