Urad dal | Ulutham paruppu | 1 tsp |
Sesame seeds | Ellu | 1/2 tsp |
Coriander seeds | Dhaniya | 1/2 tsp |
Red chillies | 4 |
Curry leaves | 3-5 |
Garlic clove | 1 |
Tomato chopped | 1/2 Cup |
Red Bell pepper | 2 Cups |
Salt | As needed |
Coriander leaves | 2 stalks |
Roasted peanuts | 1 tbsp |

Instructions:
- Heat Oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, sesame seeds, coriander seeds, red chillies, curry leaves and fry till chana dal turns golden colour. Add garlic clove and fry till raw smell goes off.
- Add tomato and fry till they turn mushy. Add red bell pepper,salt, turmeric powder and fry for 3-4 mins till red bell pepper is cooked.
- Switch off the stove, add coriander leaves and roasted peanuts. Allow the mixture to cool and grind it into smooth paste by adding enough water in blender.
- Tempering: Heat oil in the pan and add mustard, red chilly, Curry leaves and urad dal. When Urad dal turns golden colour, add it to the ground mixture.

ReplyDeleteSeen bell pepper chutney shared by many foodies as well. Seems a popular chutney yet I haven't made it before. Its thick and adore the loads of spices inside. Perfect to be paired with tosai but for me, as usual, it will be wonderful condiment.
