Ingredients:
Table 1: To Grind
Butter | 2 tsp |
Bay leaf | 1 |
Garlic chopped | 1 tsp |
Black pepper | 4 |
Tomato chopped | 2.5 Cups |
Carrot chopped | 2 tbsp |
Table 2:
Butter | 2 tsp |
Freshly ground pepper | As needed |
Salt | As needed |
Corn Flour (Optional) | 2 tsp |
Instructions:
- Heat butter in a pan. Add bay leaf, chopped garlic and black pepper. Fry till garlic raw smell goes off.
- Add chopped tomato and carrot. Fry till tomato turns mushy in medium flame.
- Grind it into smooth paste. If needed add some water. Filter the liquid using strainer.
- Heat butter in a pan. Add the ground tomato paste. Add salt and Cook in medium flame for 5 mins. Garnish with freshly ground pepper.
Thick Tomato Soup Indian Style
Use ripe tomatoes for Soup.
If the tomato soup is not thick, then mix corn flour in 1 tsp of water. Add it to soup.
To prepare bread croutons, cut bread into small cubes, fry it in butter or oil till it turns crisp.
Beautiful and love the flavors infused with it. Am wondering if this soup can be eaten with rice, you know like pouring rasam over?
