Sorghum provides essential nutrients like Iron, calcium, phosphorous, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin and Folic acid. It is also fiber rich food. Sorghum also known as Jowar in Hindi, Jolada in Tamil, Jonnalu in Telugu and Jonna in Kannada. This jowar biscuit will be very crispy and can be eaten as a evening snacks or healthy school snacks box recipe. I have added cocoa powder especially for kids. You can also prepare omiting cocoa powder, if you are not chocolate fan. Jowar flour  : 3/4 Cup - 1 tsp
Cocoa powder : 1 tsp
Brown Sugar : 1/4 Cup
Unsalted butter : 52 gms - 4 tbsp
Baking powder : 1/2 tsp
Vanilla Essence : 1/2 tsp

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease the baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper. Mix Jowar flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and sugar.Bring the unsalted butter to room temperature. Add vanilla essence to butter. Add the mixed dry ingredients to butter.

2.Using hands, mix all the ingredients and make soft dough. Take a fraction of dough and make a ball the size of lemon. Flatten the balls using fork to get crisscross pattern and arrange it in baking pan leaving 2 inch gap. Bake in oven for 12-14 mins or until the edges are golden and fairly firm to touch. Transfer it to cooling rack and allow it to cool.

Use exact measurements.
Use centre rack of oven for baking
Cashews or almonds can be used for garnishing.
Allow it to cool completely otherwise the cookies will crumble.
