Butter : 2 tsp
Onions cut lengthwise : 1/2 Cup
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp
Green chilli finely chopped : 1
Green capsicum : 1/4 Cup
Tomatoes finely chopped : 1 Cup
Salt : As needed
Chilli powder : 1 tsp
Pav bhaji masala : 2 tsp
Cooked Green peas : 1/4 Cup
Cooked rice : 2 Cups
Coriander leaves : For Garnishing
1.Heat butter in tawa or heavy bottomed pan. Add onions and fry till it turns translucent and light brown. Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies and fry till raw smell goes off. Add green capsicum and fry for 2 mins.
2. Add finely chopped tomatoes,pav bhaji masala, salt, chilli powder and 1 tbsp water. Allow tomatoes to turn mushy. Add green peas, cooked rice and coriander leaves. Mix well and serve hot.

Tawa pulao is a famous street food from Bombay. This vegetarian rice recipe is prepared in tawa and it uses pav bhaji masala powder for the flavor. Simple and easy recipe for lunch or dinner. First time I tasted this in my friend's home, I loved it. She sent me the recipe in whatsapp and tried it in home. It was a big hit. It can be prepared with left over rice.
