Cracked Wheat Briyani



Cracked wheat is rich in fibre and nutrients. It is very good for heart. Cracked wheat Briyani is a very healthy, tasty and nutritious Indian recipe cooked with Indian spices.Check below for the instructions.

Yields :                        Side dish for Rice for 2 people 

Ingredients:
Table 1:To Grind
Ginger                           
1 inch      
Garlic cloves
4
Cinnamon stick
small
Cloves
2
Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp
Cardamom
2
Fennel seeds
1/2 tsp

Table 2:
Cracked wheat
1 Cup       
Vegetables chopped 
1 Cup
Bay leaf
1
Onions chopped
1/2 Cup
Tomato chopped
1/2 Cup
Yogurt
1 tsp
Lemon concentrate 
1/2 tsp
Salt

Briyani powder 
1 tsp
Green Chillies
2
Coriander leaves
2 stalks
Oil 
2 tbsp

Instructions:
  • Grind all the ingredients from table 1 to a smooth paste by adding enough water.
  • Heat oil in the cooker and add bay leaf and the grinded paste. Fry till raw smell goes off.
  • Add chopped Onions and green chillies. Fry till onions turn translucent.
  • Add  tomato and fry till they turn mushy.
  • Add veggies of your choice(carrots, beans, cauliflower and green peas) and fry for 2 mins. 
  • Now add cracked wheat, 2.5 cups of water, yogurt, lemon concentrate and Briyani powder. Mix it well and close the pan.
  • Allow 2 whistles. Garnish with coriander leaves.
