Murungai keerai Thuvaram paruppu kootu

                                                                                 Drumstick leaves Toor Dhal curry is highly nutritious. Drumstick leaves provides essential iron and calcium for woman especially during pregnancy and breast feeding.  These leaves are also rich in vitamins, proteins and potassium. Yields :  2 servings

Drumstick leaves chopped
2 Cup
Cooked Toor dhal 
1 Cup
2 tbsp
1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
Coriander powder
1 tsp
Chilli powder
1 tsp
Onions chopped
1/2 cup

  • Heat oil in the pan and add mustard, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  • When they splutter add onions and fry it in a low flame till the onion turns golden brown colour. 
  • Add drumstick leaves, salt, chilli powder and coriander powder and fry it till the drumstick leaves are cooked. 
  • Add cooked toor dhal and fry it for 2 mins in medium flame.

  1. Nithya.. I love kootu varities.This sounds different to me.Amma usually take one cup of boiled toor dal and add to the keerai.
