Cabbage Stir fry | Cabbage Poriyal
Poriyal is a dry vegetable stir fry served as a side dish to Rice in South India. Poriyal will be less spicy. Cabbage is one of my favourite vegetable. It is very low in calories and fats. Cabbage poriyal is a simple, easy and healthy side dish to Rice.  This curry also goes well with Chappathi or roti. Cabbage Poriyal

Ingredients:
Chopped Cabbage
1 Cup
Onions chopped
1/2 Cup
Oil
1 tbsp
Mustard
1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
2
shredded coconut
1 tbsp (optional)
Urad dhal
1/2 tsp
Channa dhal
1/2 tsp
Salt

Green chillies
2
Coriander Leaves chopped
1 stick


Instructions:
  • Heat oil in the pan and add mustard, cumin seeds, Urad dhal and channa dhal.When channa dhal turn golden colour, add curry leaves, green chillies and onion. Fry till onion turn translucent.

  • Add cabbage and salt. Fry it in medium flame for few minutes stirring occasionally, still cabbage is cooked.

  •  Once the cabbage is cooked, Garnish with coriander leaves and shredded coconut.

Tips:
  • Adding coconut is optional
  • The essential nutrients will lose, if we wash the chopped vegetables, so Wash the vegetable thoroughly then chop into small pieces.
  • For more spicy add 1 red chilli and 1 more green chilli.
