Raw Banana Bajji is my all time favourite. When I was working in Chennai, my office canteen makes this Bajji on every monday. I used to have a lite lunch on monday and I will be the first person to get this bajji. Please check below for step-wise instructions and pictures for making Raw Banana Bajji alias Vazhakkai bajji.
Raw Banana / Vazhakkai

Besan Flour / Gram Flour

1/2 Cup

Rice Flour
| 2 tbsp |
Asafoedita
|
1/4 tsp
|
Turmeric Powder
|
1/4 tsp
|
Chilli powder
|
2 tsp
|
Salt
|
Instructions:
- Whisk all the ingredients except raw banana by adding enough water and prepare a thick smooth batter.Set the batter aside for about 10 minutes.
- Peel the banana skin and cut into thin slices. Place them in cold water to avoid banana turning into black colour.
- Heat enough oil to deep fry. Dip and coat the banana slices with the batter. Drop these slices in oil and turn it with slotted spoon 2 to 3 times. deep fry till it turns golden brown. Remove using slotted spoon Drain the excess oil by placing it in a paper towel.
- Serve it with coconut chutney
Tips:
Adjust red chilli powder to your taste.
