My mom prepares Sundal as a evening snacks. Instead of eating bakery items as tea time snacks, this nutrient rich sundal is a best alternative. Ingredients:

Onions chopped (Optional)

1/2 cup

Oil

Mustard

1/4 tsp

Chana dal

1 tsp

Urad dal

1 tsp

Ginger finely chopped

Green Chilly slit open

Shredded coconut

Coriander Leaves

For Garnishing

Instructions:
- Soak peanuts for 2.5 hours . Remove the outer layer ( This is optional).
- Pressure cook soaked peanuts for 4-5 whistles till it turns soft.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard, red chilly and curry leaves.When mustard splutter, add channa dal,urad dal and ginger. Fry till chana dal turns golden colour. Add curry leaves and green chillies.
- Add chopped onions and fry it till onions turn translucent. Add cooked peanuts and salt. Fry for a min. Switch off the stove. Add shredded coconut and coriander leaves.

Tips:
Avoid onions when cooking for Festivals.
Adjust chillies to your taste.
