Ingredients:
Table 1: To Grind
Shredded Coconut | 1 tbsp |
Ginger pieces | 1 tsp |
Garlic pieces | 1 tsp |
Green chillies | 2 |
Fennel seeds | Sombu | 1 tsp |
Table 2:
Cooked Rice | 3 Cups |
Oil | 2 tsp |
Mustard | 1/4 tsp |
Curry Leaves | 6 to 8 |
Onions Chopped | 1/2 Cup |
Tomato Chopped | 1/2 Cup |
Cooked Green Peas | 1/2 Cup |
Salt | As needed |
Turmeric powder | 1/4 tsp |
Coriander powder | 1 tsp |
Chilli powder | 1 tsp |
Instructions:
- Grind coconut, ginger, garlic, green chillies and fennel seeds into smooth paste by adding enough water.
- Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard and allow it to splutter. Add curry leaves and fry for a min. Add onions and fry till they turn translucent.
- Add tomatoes and fry till they turn mushy.
- Add cooked green peas, ground mixture(from ingredients in table 1), salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilli powder. Fry till raw smell goes off. Mix with cooked rice and garnish with coriander leaves. Add salt if needed.

Tips:
Adjust green chilli and chilli powder to your taste.
Roasted cashews can be added for more flavor.
