Ingredients:
Table 1 : To Grind
Chana dal | Kadalai paruppu | 2 tbsp |
Shredded coconut | 2 tbsp |
Ginger pieces | 1 tsp |
Green chilli | 2 |
Table 2:
Oil | 2 tsp |
Mustard | 1/4 tsp |
Cumin seeds | 1 tsp |
Curry leaves | 8 to 10 |
Red Chillies | 3 |
Lady's Finger | Okra pieces | 1/2 Cup |
Turmeric powder | 1/2 tsp |
Curd | Yogurt | 3/4 Cup |
Salt | As needed |
Coriander leaves | For Garnishing |
Instructions:
- Wash and soak chana dal for one hour. Grind chana dal, coconut, ginger and green chilli to a smooth paste by adding enough water.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, water to curd / yogurt. Whisk well. Add ground mixture(got from ingredients in table 1) to curd. Keep it ready.
- Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard and allow it to splutter. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and red chillies. Fry for a min. Add lady's finger pieces and fry till they are cooked.
- Add beaten curd and cook till the gravy boils. Simmer for 5 mins. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Tips:
Adjust green chillies and red chillies to your taste.
Use sour curd for preparing Kadhi. If the yogurt is thick, add enough water and whisk well.
