|Shredded coconut||2 tbsp|
|Ginger pieces||1 tsp|
|Cumin seeds||1 tsp|
|Curry leaves||8 to 10|
|Lady's Finger | Okra pieces||1/2 Cup|
|Turmeric powder||1/2 tsp|
|Curd | Yogurt||3/4 Cup|
|Coriander leaves||For Garnishing|
- Wash and soak chana dal for one hour. Grind chana dal, coconut, ginger and green chilli to a smooth paste by adding enough water.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, water to curd / yogurt. Whisk well. Add ground mixture(got from ingredients in table 1) to curd. Keep it ready.
- Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard and allow it to splutter. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and red chillies. Fry for a min. Add lady's finger pieces and fry till they are cooked.
- Add beaten curd and cook till the gravy boils. Simmer for 5 mins. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Vendakkai Kadhi | Okra Kadhi
Adjust green chillies and red chillies to your taste.
Use sour curd for preparing Kadhi. If the yogurt is thick, add enough water and whisk well.
