Masala Pori / Puffed Rice






Masala Pori is an easy ,quick and delicious evening snack. It can be stored in air tight container for about a week.  It is a healthy snack and doesn't need any deep fry














Preparation Time:     2 mins
Cook Time :                5 mins
Ready in :                   7 mins
Yields :                         4 Cups.

Ingredients:
Pori/Puffed Rice
3 cups
Garlic cloves chopped lengthwise 
6-8
Roasted Peanuts
1/2 cup
Pottu Kadalai
1/4 cup
Mustard
1/8 tsp
Cumin seeds
1 tsp
Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp
Chilli powder
1 tsp
Salt
Curry leaves
4
Coconut Oil
2 tbsp



Instructions:

  • Heat Oil in the pan and add mustard, cumin seeds, curry leaves and garlic.



  • When garlic is cooked, add roasted peanuts, pottukadalai,salt and chilli powder.Fry for 2 mins in low flame



  • Add Puffed Rice / Pori and fry for  a min. 


Tips:
  • My mom usually don't add salt, as we get salted puffed rice in Tamil Nadu.Taste the Puffed Rice and decide on adding salt accordingly.
  • Allow the masala pori to cool, store in air tight container. It will last for a week .
  • Adjust chilli powder to your taste.
