Makai Gobi Masala

Makai Gobi Masala is a Maharastrian recipe. It is served as a side dish to Chappathi or Roti. This recipe is prepared by cooking Cauliflower and corn kernels in Indian Masala. Check below for detailed step-wise instructions of Makai Gobi Masala - Cauliflower Corn Gravy.

Yields :                        2 Servings 

Cauliflower Florets
1 cup    
Corn Kernels
1/4 Cup
Onions Chopped
1/4 Cup
Ginger and Garlic Finely chopped 
1.5 tbsp
Tomato paste
1/4 Cup
Green Chilly
2 tbsp
Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp
Coriander powder
1 tsp
Chilli powder
1 tsp
Coriander Leaves
2 stalk

  • Cut Cauliflower into small florets. Soak florets in boiling water for 5 mins to remove germs.

  •  Heat oil in the pan and add  cumin seeds.

  • Add  ginger, garlic and green chilly. Fry till raw smell goes off.

  • Add chopped onion and fry till onion turn translucent.
  • Add cauliflower florets and corn kernels. Fry it for 3 -5 minutes. 

  • Add tomato paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilli powder. Mix well

  • Add 1 cup of water and cook till the gravy thickens.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

Tomato paste can be replaced by adding fresh tomatoes. Blanch the tomatoes and grind it in a blender.
Adjust chilly to your taste
