Thalicha Dosai



Thalicha Dosai is usually prepared with left over Dosa batter. My mom usually prepares this on sixth or seventh day after dosa batter is fermented. Onions , green chillies, curry leaves are fried and added to dosa batter. This dosa doesn't need any side dish.Please check below for step-wise instructions for making Seasoned Crepe






Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins 
Ready In: 25 mins
Yields : 6 Dosa

Ingredients:
Dosa batter
3 Cups
Oil
1 tbsp + 6 tsp
Mustard
1/4 tsp
Onions finely Chopped 
1/2 Cup
Channa Dal
1 tsp
Urad Dal
1 tsp
6 tsp
Curry leaves chopped 
3
Green chillies finely chopped 
2
Coriander leaves chopped 
2 stalks
Salt



Instructions:
  • Heat 1 tbsp of Oil in a pan. Add mustard, curry leaves,channa dal and urad dal. Fry till channa dal turns golden colour.

  •  Add onions, finely chopped green chillies and fry it till they turn translucent.

  •  Add coriander leaves and switch of the stove. Add this fried items  and enough salt to dosa batter

 

  •  Mix all the ingredients along with water and prepare a batter comparatively more watery than normal dosa batter. 

  • Heat dosa tava in medium flame . Sprinkle water and check whether the dosa tava is hot. Take 1/4 cup of batter and spread evenly starting from centre. 


  • Pour 1 tsp of oil on dosa circumference.when the colour of dosa is half cooked, spread podi and cook for a min till dosa turns golden colour.
Tips:
Adding podi is optional

    1. If refrigerated immediately after batter ferments, we can keep it for a week. ( Assuming there is no power cut) :)
