How many of you love podi uthappam? This paruppu podi can be taken as a side dish to rice along with ghee or sesame oil. I prefer having this podi in Uthappam or dosa. Yields : 1/3 Cup
Ingredients:
Red chillies

8-10
|
Channa Dal
|
1/4 Cup
|
Urad Dal
|
2 tbsp
|
Shredded coconut
|
3 tbsp
|
Salt
|
1/4 tsp
|
Asafoetida powder
|
1/4 tsp
|
Instructions:
- Dry roast channa dal to golden brown colour. Dry roast urad dal separately to golden colour. Dry roast shredded coconut to golden colour till the moisture is lost.
- Mix all the ingredients and blend to a coarse powder.
Adjust chillies to your taste.
Shelf life of this powder is one week.
Shredded coconut can be replaced with store bought dry coconut powder.
