Stove top Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian bread which has fans throughout the world. Pizza is chosen for this month's home baker's challenge. As I have already posted pizza base, paneer tikka pizza, whole wheat flour pizza . I planned to try a new method. Followed the same steps for oven pizza except the cooking method. This pizza is prepared in a non-stick pan on stove top. I didn't find any difference in taste, but the oven made pizza was much softer than this pizza. The cooking time is comparatively less in stove top pizza.  Please check below for step by step instructions and pictures for preparing stove top vegetarian pizza.



Preparation Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 10 mins 
Ready In: 1 hour 10 mins
Yields: 1 - 10 inch Pizza


Stove top Pizza

Ingredients:
Table 1: For Pizza Base
All purpose flour
3/4 cup
Warm water (110 F)
60 ml
Sugar
1/2 tsp
Salt
1/2 tsp
Active Dry Yeast ( 1/2 tsp - 0.8 gms)        
1/2 packet
Olive Oil
2 tsp


Table 2: For Toppings
Pizza Sauce
2 tbsp
Shredded Mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp
Toppings
1/3 Cup


Instructions:
  • Mix warm water, sugar, salt, active dry yeast and 1/4 cup of  flour. Rest it for 15 mins. Add oil and remaining flour. Make a soft dough. Rest it for 1 hour by covering with damp cloth.


  • After 1 hour , the dough will double in size. knead for 2-3 mins. Take a non-stick pan.

  • Place the dough in non-stick pan. Using hand,  pat gently and flatten to 10 inch diameter. The other way is to use rolling pin to flatten the dough. Heat the non-stick pan on stove top in medium flame.



  • Once the dough starts raising and turns golden colour in some area, turn on other side and cook for a min.Spread the pizza sauce on top of it.




  • Spread your favourite cheese. I used mozarella cheese. Top it with your favourite toppings. I have used mushrooms, corn, onions and capsicum.



  • Close it with a lid and cook till the cheese melts.Transfer it to a big plate and cut it using pizza cutter.

Tips:
  • Cook the pizza in medium flame or low flame.
  • Use the non-stick pan for best results. 
  • Adding olive oil on the circumference of pizza(after adding toppings) will give a golden colour effect on the circumference.
  • Before serving, garnish with herbs and chilli flakes
  • Prepare a thin crust pizza for stove top method.

  5. hey, good job! you can actually cut the preparation time from one hour to just 10 minutes if you use baking powder instead of yeast. i tried it today and it works!
