Coconut Milk is prepared from grated coconut and is very popular in South Asian cuisine. Coconut milk will be mildly sweeter than cow's milk. Coconut milk is used as milk substitute in baking by vegans.Coconut Milk Pulao or Coconut Milk pilaf is a less spicy rice dish. I prepared this recipe along with gobi manchurian. Onions chopped lengthwise
- Soak Basmati rice for 1 hour or as per instructions given in rice bag.Heat Oil in the cooker. Add cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and fennel seeds.
- Add onions and fry till onions turn golden colour.Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes off.
- Add carrots and green peas. Fry for 2 mins. Add basmati rice and salt.
- Add 1 cup coconut milk and 1 Cup water. Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Garnish with coriander leaves and roasted cashews.
