Turmeric Powder | 1/4 tsp |
Chilli Powder | 2 tsp |
Coriander Powder | 1/2 tsp |
Red Gram Dhal / Toor Dhal | 1/2 Cup |

Coriander leaves chopped | 2 stalks |

Instructions:
- Wash and soak urad dal for 1.5 hours. Strain the water. Grind urad dal to a smooth paste in a grinder Grind it till urad dal turns soft and fluffy.
- Add salt, ginger, curry leaves, green chillies, coriander leaves and black pepper to the dough and mix well.
- Heat Oil for deep frying. Drop small lemon size of batter in oil and deep fry till it turns golden brown on both sides.Drain the excess oil by placing it in a paper towel.
- Wash Toor Dhal and soak for 30 minutes. Pressure cook it for 4 or 5 whistles along with turmeric powder.
- Add salt, chilli powder and coriander leaves to cooked dal. Heat 1 tbsp of Oil and add mustard. When mustard splutters, add cumin seeds.
- Add onions and fry till onions turn translucent. Add tomato and fry til they turn mushy. Add dal and 1/2 cup water.Mix well. Allow it to boil and simmer for 5 mins.
Really it so new to me and never tried before. But I am loving it. Beautiful round shaped goodies in the thick gravy.
