Maa laddoo or Maladdu is prepared with only 3 ingredients - Roasted gram, sugar and ghee. It is an easy and quick healthy sweet. It can be prepared within 10 mins. This is one of my toddler's recent favorite. This makes an excellent school snacks too. Roasted bengal gram is rich in fiber. It is known as pottukadalai in tamil, putnala pappu in telugu. Instructions:
Take 1 Cup of pottukadalai and 1 cup of sugar. Grind pottukadalai into fine powder in blender / mixie. Sieve it and keep it ready.
Powder sugar into fine powder. Mix pottukadalai powder and sugar powder.
Heat ghee in a pan. Add hot ghee little by little till the powders hold together.
Shape into small balls of lemon size by holding it in hand as shown below in the video and place the laddu's in a tray.
Tips:
Store it in air tight container for a week.
I have freshly prepared ghee from butter. I used approx. 6 tbsp of butter.
