Vendakkai Poriyal - Bendakaya Vepudu

Vendakkai Poriyal                                                                         Lady's Finger is rich in fibre content. It also provides essential vitamin C, Calcium and Potassium. This Okra dry curry should be cooked in low flame.  Vendakkai poriyal is served as a side dish to Rice. Tips are given below to overcome the stickiness in Lady's finger while cooking. Vendakkai Poriyal

Ingredients:
Vendakkai chopped

Onions chopped
1/2 Cup
Oil
1 tbsp
Mustard
1/8 tsp
Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp
Channa dhal
1/2 tsp
Urad dhal
1/2 tsp
Green chillies
2
Curry Leaves
2
Yogurt
2 tbsp
Salt
Turmeric Powder      
1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves
2 stalks
Coriander Powder
1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp




Instructions:

  • Heat oil in the pan and add mustard, cumin seeds,channa dhal and Urad dhal.When they splutter add green chillies, curry leaves, onion and fry till onion turns translucent. 

  • Add lady's finger and yogurt. Fry it in low flame till veggies are cooked. Yogurt/Curd is added to reduce stickiness. Lemon juice also reduces lady's finger stickiness.

  • Add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder. Fry it in a low flame till raw smell goes off.
