Red chutney for Mysore Masala Dosa
The taste of  masala dosa is enhanced by applying red chutney also known as chana dal chutney while cooking dosa. Mysore Masala Dosa is a very common Breakfast recipe in Karnataka. My mom tasted this when she went for Bangalore trip during her college days. So she was keep on saying that the taste was unique. so this was one of the first recipe I tried when we settled in Bangalore. Yields :                        10 servings 
Mysore Masala Dosa red chutney

Ingredients:
Oil1 tsp
Chana Dal / Kadalai paruppu 
2 tbsp
Kashmiri Red Chilli
4 or 5
Garlic cloves
3
shallots or onions chopped
1 tbsp
Salt


Instructions:
  • Heat Oil in a pan. Roast chana dal to golden colour. Add red chilli, garlic cloves and shallots. Once the onions are cooked, switch of the stove and allow it to cool. Grind roasted chana dal, red chilli, garlic cloves, onions and salt in blender to a coarse paste. Add little water while grinding.

Tips:
Adjust red chilli to your taste.
1 tsp of shredded coconut can also be added to this chutney
