Rava Idli is a spicy South Indian Breakfast prepared from Semolina | Rava | Sooji. It is prepared as a variation of normal rice idli. According to Wiki, during world war II when rice was short of supply, the famous MTR restaurant of Karnataka created this rava idli. The best thing I love about this rava idli is no soaking, no grinding and no waiting for fermentation involved. Enjoy this rava idli with coriander chutney or coconut chutney. Please check below for step by step instructions and pictures for preparing South Indian Rava Idli.

Rava upma is also known as Kara bath in Karnataka. Usually tomatoes are not added in this rava upma, but my mom adds tomatoes and it adds a little sour to the upma and it can be consumed withhout any side dish. It tastes good with pickle and curd or coconut chutney. Please check below for step by step instructions and pictures for preparing South Indian Rava upma | Kara bath.
Soft Mysore Pak | Diwali Sweet
Mysore Pak is a famous Indian sweet and dessert from the state of Karnataka. It is prepared from besan flour, sugar and ghee. With only 3 main ingredients, Mysore Pak are usually made in two ways. One with comparatively lesser ghee but harder version. The second version will be very soft and literally melts in mouth. It involves addition of more ghee, but the taste is unbeatable. Being a Coimbatorean, I am a big fan of Sri Krishna Sweets Mysore Pak. Prepared this heart shaped Mysore Pak for Valentine's Day.
