Pongal is harvest festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu. It is celebrated from last day of Tamil Month Maargazhi to third day of Tamil month Thai. It is believed that the beginning of Thai month will bring lot of new opportunities. It is celebrated as Sankranthi in some states.
