My mom always prefer home-made food. During my school days, I remember asking my mom to prepare masala puri. She prepared the below recipe. Me and my bro loved this recipe. After some years, I tasted masala puri in Bangalore. The taste was quite different. Comparatively I liked my mom's version and prepare it frequently for my kids. Mixed sprouts are used to prepare the gravy. This is one of the easy way to make kids to eat sprouts. My mom prepares this Pacha Kollu Rasam to treat cold and cough. This rasam is a savior during flu season. This rasam can be  taken as a side dish to Rice or even drink it as a Soup.  A very simple rasam - just grind all the ingredients and cook till raw smell goes off.  The specialty about this rasam is horse gram soaked for some time and ground directly without cooking it. Garlic, pepper added to rasam not only gives taste but also helps in curing cold. Adai is a popular crepe from South India prepared using rice, mixed lentils, and Indian spices. I have modified the recipe by adding ridge gourd also. So this Adai has nutrients from vegetable and mixed dals. Ridge gourd is rich in beta carotene, dietary fibre, vitamin C, zinc, ribloflavin, iron and magnesium.
