Dal Baati | Rajasthan Special dish
Dal Baati is a popular dish from Rajasthan. Baati is prepared by kneading whole wheat flour | atta into stiff dough . It is made into small balls and cooked in oven. Baati is served with ghee and dal. Urad dal, chana dal and yellow split mung dal are pressure cooked along with turmeric powder. Paruppu podi for Rice
Whomever had lunch in Andhra mess would have tasted the lentil powder alias gun powder. I am not sure why it got the name gun powder. It is my hubby's favourite. He starts his lunch with this paruppu podi and ghee. It is also my kid's favourite and I used to prepare in small batches 15 days once. Drumstick leaves are rich in iron when compared to other green leaves. My mom usually grind the dals and add the drumstick leaves before preparing the Adai.
